What were your parents doing at your age?

At my age, my parents were navigating a world that looked so different from mine—yet, in many ways, their struggles and dreams weren’t so far from my own.

They were building a life, balancing responsibilities, and making sacrifices I didn’t fully understand until I grew older. They didn’t have the luxury of endless choices or digital opportunities, but they had resilience, determination, and an unwavering belief in a better future.

Sometimes, I wonder—if they had the same access to knowledge, technology, and global connections that I do, what paths would they have taken? And more importantly, am I making the most of what they worked so hard to give me?

  1. I’ve heard from a motivational speaker last December that our parents are more resilient than us even though they don’t have access to technology before. I think she’s right as mental illnesses are increasing now that was lesser 50 years ago.
