If you could un-invent something, what would it be?
If I could un-invite something from my life, it would be self-doubt. That uninvited guest that always seems to show up at the worst times—before a big decision, in the middle of a new project, or just when I’m beginning to feel like I’m on the right track. It doesn’t knock. It barges in, making itself comfortable, whispering fears and “what-ifs” in my ear.
Self-doubt has a way of turning dreams into distant possibilities and turning confidence into hesitation. It makes me second-guess my worth, question my abilities, and wonder if I’m truly capable of achieving the things I aspire to. It’s a sneaky, persistent guest, and if I’m honest, I’ve let it stay longer than I should have.
But here’s the thing—I’ve also learned that I don’t have to listen to it. I can show it the door. Each time I choose courage over fear, action over hesitation, and belief over doubt, I weaken its hold. Slowly but surely, I’m learning that self-doubt might knock again, but it doesn’t have to stay.
Un-inviting self-doubt doesn’t mean I’ll never feel unsure or afraid. It just means I’ll no longer give it the power to hold me back. Because my life—and yours—is better lived with confidence at the table and doubt left on the outside looking in.
